Community Helpers Training

Monday/Tuesday, July 25 & 26, 5pm - 8pm
Tuesday/Wednesday, August 30 & 31, 5pm - 8pm
This one-day workshop focuses on building participants' listening and communication skills so that they are better able to offer help and referral to friends, family and co-workers. Topics include: mental health, suicide, knowing when others need help, resources in Jasper and making referrals. The workshop centres around a six step process that helps to guide otherwise difficult conversations. The course is perfect for workplace training - supervisory training in particular. It's beneficial to all ages as the skills can be applied immediately at home, among friends or in the workplace. Community Helpers is offered for school-age children as well as in the community for adults.
