The purpose of the Economic Recovery Task Force is to provide recommendations on strategies and actions to position the community to safely and effectively resume welcoming visitors, in accordance with public health directives. Member organizations seek opportunities for alignment and coordination between agencies, and work together to ensure that the conditions for future visitor economy success are met. Each member organization continues to act under their own jurisdiction and authority.
Members of the Task Force include:
- Community Futures West Yellowhead;
- Jasper Employment and Education Centre;
- Jasper Hotel Association;
- Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce;
- Major attractions (Marmot Basin/Skytram);
- Municipality of Jasper;
- Parks Canada Agency; and
- Tourism Jasper.
Tourism Jasper Town Hall Virtual Meeting
On Friday, May 29, Tourism Jasper hosted a Tourism Town Hall virtual meeting to address the reopening of the destination and plans for recovery. Click the link above to watch the meeting.
Members struck a Business Engagement subcommittee to help identify, define and share business concerns and ideas with the Task Force. A business survey will be issued later this week to gather input from businesses and guide the engagement process moving forward.
